i-Rise
Rise above. Every day.
iOS · React Native + Expo · Solo build
i-Rise is a daily-affirmations app for iOS — a calm, distraction-free space to reframe negative thoughts, build confidence, and nurture inner peace, one affirmation at a time. I designed, built, and shipped it solo, from initial market research all the way through App Store publication.
It’s also the project where I went all-in on spec-driven, AI-assisted development: every feature was planned, documented, and built through a structured Memory Bank workflow in Cursor — turning specs into production code without losing engineering discipline.

THE EXPERIENCE
- 10,000+ handcrafted affirmations across 20+ categories — confidence, gratitude, healing, clarity, love, purpose, and more.
- Personalized to you — affirmations that speak to you by name.
- Smart daily reminders — uplifting nudges on your own schedule, with fully customizable frequency and timing.
- A smart delivery algorithm that tracks what you’ve already seen and cycles fresh content across thousands of affirmations.
- Favorites, sharing & theming — save the lines that land, share them as beautiful images, switch between light and dark, and pick from dynamic app icons.
- Works fully offline — no internet required; your calm is always with you.
UNDER THE HOOD
- React Native 0.79 + Expo 53 with TypeScript and file-based routing via Expo Router.
- Realm for offline-first local storage built to scale to thousands of affirmations.
- RevenueCat for subscriptions and freemium feature gating.
- Firebase Analytics & Sentry for product insight and production error tracking.
- EAS Build + Fastlane for a complete CI/CD pipeline with automated builds and App Store releases.
HOW I BUILT IT
35+ features — researched, documented, and shipped solo.
Every part of i-Rise was mine to own: product research, UX, technical architecture, development, and release. I leaned on a spec-driven workflow using Cursor’s Memory Bank — documenting design decisions, system patterns, and reflections for every shipped feature — so the codebase stayed coherent even as it grew.
It’s a small proof of where I’m heading: pairing eleven years of frontend engineering with AI-assisted, agentic development to take ideas from spec to the App Store.
